i shall attempt to blog 5 days worth of adventure! :D
5 days which drained my spritually, physically and mentally.
(sorry benita, but i felt that too. haha.)

Tuesday
Pre camp preparations. woke up at 1245, bathed and rushed down to church. Sorry to dee&shi who had to wake up at the same time as me and leave for home. so we had a last minute briefing, then packed stuff, brought them all over to btps. met crystal! :D missed her so much, she's finally back from thailand! :D from there, games were explains, purpose of the Prayer room was explained. while the Tls played martialarts showdown, the Atls played ultimate frisbee. it was really fun la! :D the screamings, the people, the game. it felt as if first day of camp has started! after that helped to painted OmegaNight banner till 10plus with Stanley, Eunice, Small Sam, Darius, Rebbecca. (: we finished it in a night! not bad eh. :D reached home, packed bag, bathed, slept.

Wednesday
went down church at 930. met smallsam, darius, junwei, jeff and we took a lift down to btps in the church van. helped to arrange things, get ready, lunch. this year's theme is Return of the King. the aim of the camp is to increase revival of our faith and tell us more about the Second Coming of the Lord. the signs, what to expect and how we are supposed to be. camp was suppose to officially start at 1pm but by 1220pm while we were having lunch, people had started to arrive! waited for everyone to arrive, game out nametags&shirt, and while everyone's done, went up to the hall for icebreakers.

this year's camp had 120 people! :D and everyone was divided into 12 groups. the groups were from the Twelve stones which formed the New Jerusalem and they were..

Yepyep, the twelve groups and the leaders and assistant leaders. like me, most of these people are new leaders. i think the church is giving us a chance to serve and show our leadership qualities to prepare us for more things to come.

And so, the people in Chalcedony! are: Leon/Me/Ena/Issac/Wilsonkhoo/Gabriel/LydiaLau/Karen/Benita/Joan.
was pretty scared for my group at first cus i was afraid that there were afew p6ers and it was worse if they were trouble makers and refused to cooperate. i'm really really thankful that my group was really not bad. really thank God for that cus i know that in certain groups, many conflicts and unhappiness arose.

so we played icebreakers and bonded the group together. during this session, got to know some of my group members! taught them the 2 cheers and we were all ready for Zonal Captains ball! (: the game was modified into 3 zones, and in each zone, 2 players allowed. i think it was a really really great idea cus everyone was involved. even the people who would usually just stand around and wait for the ball was forced to play. it was a good thing as everyone was active! the winner for overall was Jacinth and it was highly commendable! though they had Matthew(best tennis player for Singapore in Under18s) and Leonard(agile!), at the finals they were faced with Chrysoprase which had Really Tall members! like Weijia, Darius, Joanna towering overthem. nevertheless, they won! really really highly commendable for their group effort!

next, we had preparation for Fame Night. it was a real tough as all the groups had less than 4hrs to think up of a skit to prepare for the next day. next, we had MessageOne by Ps Ronnie Hoh from ARPC. understood it but i felt that overall, the message was really q shallow. it needed a deeper analysis into it. many questions were left hung there, unanswered. for example i was asking Benita, Since the trinity consists of Father, Son and HolySpirit how come only the Father knows the timing of the Second Coming and not the God&Son? this answer shall soon be sought for!

the night game was the candle game. there were 4 bases and 6 strings tied to it. the strings were rafia strings, twines, and the seemingly unburnable-green-thick-string. 3 groups joined tgt to form a team and i partnered Charis. our hands were tied tgt, had to hold a candle in a styrofoam cup and the aim of the game was to burn off the strings of the 3 other groups and blowing off the flame in other groups' cups. there was the centre NoBlow area where everyone could relight their candle if it gets blows off by other groups. my group won! :D haha. we had 3 strings left unburnt while others mostly had all burnt or 1 left unburnt. -grin. overall, i felt that the game was q fun and exhilarating. but a little too dangerous. after all, it is played by 120 people and accidents could happen if there's a little mistake or carelessness. it was also q a drain of resources i felt cus candles and cups once used cant be recycled blah. but nonetheless, we had a wonderful time playing it! (:

after the game, had supper while the rest went to bathe and sleep. slept ard 3+ cus had to prepare for QT and wrote notes to every member in my group. yawn.

Thursday
missed the physicaltraining session cus had music practice for song leading with Stanley. started the day with message two after breakfast and next fame preparations. everything was q rushed through, ideas were thrown around, but after everything, we managed to get a skit out! :D played the martial arts showdown. very proud of my group eh! we said cheers everywhere we went and everyone was really On about it. Loveit! (: martial arts showdown is really veryvery fun! :D it's moving around in stations, completing tasks and looking for Monsters (Gavin, Roy, Royston) to learn new martial art moves to challenge other groups to earn rubberbands. my sharpeyed group found a sign we were supposed to find and were the only group knowing that kungfu skill! whee! it was the second best of all man! :D learnt teamwork through this game as everyone really had to work together to get the group going and participating. the station games were also very well thought of as everyone's participation was needed and we learnt to work together as a group. (:

the highlight of the night was FameNight! haha. my group was the Twelveth to present! and i think everygroup really did a great job la. considering that we only had like 4hrs as a group to discuss and to present a skit about 7mins involving everyone. we had to prepare a skit based on the message of return of the king. i guess by the time my group presented, everyone was alr very sleepy! hoho. sorry but i think it was worth watching! i think they videocam-ed it down. hoho! :D great job, Chalcedony! though Beryl(terence's grp) won first. :D best actor were two friends from a foreign land! Dominic won best actor acting a Singh man and i won for best actress acting as a maid and devil. hahaha. And hereby, i would like to thank my friends Beth(rose), Rosemary (lynette), Sophia(crystal),Maria(nicholas) and Dianah (Benita) for their support. hahaha. :D

by then, we were pretty tired and everyone had a last minute shower, bathed. while i stayed up with other group leaders to prepare Qt etc. :D

Friday
the very much hushhush Winter Sonata and Summer Sentosa! (: For WinterSonata, we went to SnowCity to play! Wheeeeeee! it was damndamndamn fun! :D my first time there eh. the temperature was -5.3degrees and we were all shivering la. and i love my slidemates! me/doreen/dominic/bryan/tengjin/binghe etc. we tried out different formations and slided down the long icy slide! it was very thrilling! and esp. painful when the snow hits your face. enjoyed my time there thoughly though it was only an hour's play. (:

next, we headed to Sentosa for our SummerSentosa. enjoyed the busride praise there as us, the backrow ppl sang alot of songs. (: me/amelia/bryan/jiahui. yep. had bk lunch. Whee! but everyone couldnt finish their food la. haha. next on was scavenger hunt. exciting! we had 1hr to find the red things stated on the list plus all the red things we could find and a questionaire with qns like, "what is the distance of singapore from sentosa" Blahhh. really fun time la. (: everyone assembled back an hr later and we had our frisbee tournament. (: God was really very merciful and graceful. we had sunny lovely weather till the semifinals when it started pouring. (:

that night, we had prayer and praise. i guess it was pretty emotional, hearts were touched. (: and that we realise that faith and spiritual connection is not only singing songs we like with upbeat tunes but singing songs straight from the heart, meaning everything we sang. it was also a time of revival of faith too, recommiting ourselves back to God, asking him to use, make and mould us. (: it was a really good session.

after that, we watched a movie Left Behind till abt 1+. it was about rapture and i think it was pretty haunting. it showed that on earth, whoever believed God would go up to heaven to meet God while others stayed on Earth. it was a pretty sad show as it showed that many loved ones who are unsaved by God would be left on earth, separated by the others. it showed how a family was separated and the sadness and agony they faced. however, after all the activities of the day, everyone was q tired and felt asleep in between. haha. -winks.

since the weather was fine, the frisbee finals were held. while my group had to visit the prayer room. everyone was really very very beat from the whole day of activites and even though they didnt express it out, i knew they were in no mood to spend 20mins in that room. however, we still went along with it. i guess its this prayer room which made me very touched. the room was abt ACTS. it was a way to teach us how to pray. A-Adoration. C-Confession. T-Thanksgiving S-Supplication. we were paired up in pairs and i did it with Wilson. he is considered the most mischevous boy in the group and the youngest too. but overall a really nice boy, listens if we asks him too etc. (: so i paired up with him. and i really praise God for that prayer room. it was in that room which he started telling me some personal things and i was q pleasantly surprised. (: i wouldnt expect him to tell me but i'm glad he did anyway. (: we didnt even have enough time for each board! and after that, Leon told us that we spent 50mins in there! it really didnt feel it was so long but it was a really fruitful and meaningful time spent in there. (:

since it was the last night, everyone played games. the really exhausted ones went to sleep. so we played captains ball! and the Bom!Catching. It was really fun la. played till 5.30, den bathed, wrote encouragement cards till i fell asleep. yawn.

Saturday
didnt sleep the whole night! was q exhausted. had cleanup, thanksgiving and thereafter, the rest of the campers went home! the leaders went back to church for camp debrief admist pizza by Ps wesley! (: it was a meaningful session as opinions and feedbacks were thrown out to help improve next year's camp. 120campers is something we must thank God for. we must also thank God for the increasing campers, and the smooth sailing activities and that no major mishaps happened during the camp. (: after the meeting, had a short christmas party briefing with crystal. went home, Slept! (: (: (:

Sunday
though i skipped dinner and slept from 6pm till 8am admist waking up to reply messages, yawn. i set my alarm clock at 7, replied Stanley's msg and went back to sleep till 845am! ohno. = rushed down to church and had a christmas combined service. (: after that 40+ of us dominated kap macs. had fun and good fellowship. :D
went with amelia/maylene/cystal/tessa to get christmas party decos&present. (: thereafter went down to town to meet the rest! 28 of us watched Ocean's Twelve. (: had to have a bit of explaination from Terence before i understood the story. haha. but overall, it was a pretty nice show! (:
after that walked around, blahblah. till abt 9+, went down usualplace for supper with leijh and shi. (: walked home, back! :D

anw, from this camp.
i've learnt that God had paid so huge a price for dying on the cross to save all of us. and it is through repentence of sins and renewable of faith that we could one day see Him in heaven. and we'd have to share the gospel if we want our loved ones to get to know him too. or else, they would be Left Behind. the desires and temptations we face on Earth and all the wordly pleasures are only temporary. and that eternal life is far longer than the time we spent on Earth. to prepare a place there, we'd have to affirm our faith in God. the Second Coming would come unexpectedly like a thief in the night, and therefore, we have to be constantly prepared for it. others might be shocked and surprised but we have no fear. God has already told us that this day would come and all Sons of the Light and Day should not be afraid and trust in him.
